As much fun as The Big Game is, it can be tough to stay on top of your diet. Parties often feature fatty, carb-filled snacks, without proper portion size.

If you’re heading to a friend’s place or planning a soiree of your own, make sure to provide healthy options that both you and your guests will enjoy. Here are four game day snack recipes you can make easily:

Roasted Green Chili & Lime Cheesy Hot Bean Dip

Makes one 8×8 inch pan (approx. 20 servings; ¼ cup per serving)

  • 4 ounces Meijer reduced fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ Tbsp. homemade taco seasoning, recipe follows
  • ½ cup Meijer reduced fat sour cream
  • 1 (16-ounce) can True Goodness by Meijer organic roasted green chili & lime refried beans
  • 1 Tbsp. Meijer Organics dry parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp. hot sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Colby jack cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green onion
  • True Goodness by Meijer organic yellow corn tortilla chips, for serving

Taco Seasoning

  • 2 Tbsps. Meijer Organics chili powder
  • ¾ tsp. Meijer Organics garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. Meijer Organics onion powder
  • ¼ tsp. Meijer Organics red chili flakes
  • ½ tsp. dry oregano
  • 1 tsp. Meijer Organics paprika
  • 1-½ tsps. Meijer Organics cumin
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment to combine the cream cheese and taco seasoning in a bowl on medium speed for 1 minute. (Can also use hand mixer). Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add in the sour cream; mix on medium speed 2 minutes.
  3. Add refried beans, dried parsley and hot sauce to bowl and mix to combine.
  4. Add in shredded cheese and green onion and mix on low speed just to combine.
  5. Pour dip into a greased 8×8 inch baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until bubbly and hot.
  6. Serve hot with yellow corn chips.

Sriracha Cauliflower Wings

Serves 4

  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Ground Cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Separate the florets from the cauliflower.  In a bowl, whisk together garlic, sriracha, cumin, salt, and olive oil.  Add cauliflower florets and toss gently to mix together and coat well.
  2. Arrange the seasoned cauliflower in a single layer on baking sheet pan.
  3. Roast 20 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.

Chipotle Turkey Pumpkin Chili

Serves 8

  • 20 oz. True Goodness® by Meijer®  Gluten Free Lean Ground Turkey, 93% lean, 7% fat
  • 1 tablespoon True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 cup diced white onion*
  • 1 cup diced sweet bell pepper blend*
  • 2 jalapeño peppers, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounces) can Meijer diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
  • 1 (15 ounces) can Meijer 100% Pure Pumpkin
  • 1 tablespoon True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Chili Powder
  • 2 teaspoons chipotle chile powder
  • 1 teaspoon True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Ground Cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) can True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Whole Kernel Corn, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15 ounces) can True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Low Sodium Black Beans, rinsed and drained
  1. In a pot, add turkey and cook until browned. Remove turkey from pot; set aside.  Heat oil in pot.  Add onion, bell pepper blend, jalapeños, and garlic and cook until onion is translucent and tender, about 4 to 5 minutes.  Add turkey, tomatoes, pumpkin, chili powder, chipotle chile powder, cumin, salt and pepper to onion mixture; bring to a boil.  Reduce heat to medium low and add beans and corn.  Cover and cook, stirring occasionally for 25 to 30 minutes more.

Time-saving tip: *Pick up pre-cut onion and bell pepper in Meijer produce department.

Apple Nachos

  • 3 SweeTango apples, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon orange juice or pineapple juice
  • 3 tablespoons True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ¼ cup True Goodness® by Meijer® Organic Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  1. Place sliced apples on a platter. Coat apple slices with pineapple juice to keep them from browning.
  2. Melt peanut butter until it’s super runny and drizzle it all over the apple slices.
  3. Top the apple slices with chocolate chips.
