There’s nothing sweeter in the summertime than ripe, juicy blueberries. We can’t get enough of these seasonal berries, so here are four of our favorite summer blueberry recipes.

Easy Breezy Blueberry Smoothie

This delicious and refreshing smoothie is the perfect way to enjoy blueberries! Make it for a super easy, super nutritious and super tasty breakfast or as a snack anytime of the day.

Serves 2

  • 1 cup ice (more or less, depending on how thick you like your smoothie)
  • 1 pint (about 2 cups) fresh locally grown Michigan blueberries*
  • 1 cup Earthbound Farm™ Organic baby greens such as spinach or kale
  • 1 cup juice (orange, pineapple, apple, or strawberry juice blend or pineapple-orange juice)
  • 1 5 ounce container True Goodness™ by Meijer™ Organic Greek Yogurt (plain, or use vanilla flavor for a sweeter smoothie)
  • 1 tablespoon True Goodness™ by Meijer™ Organic Honey

Optional: Dash of True Goodness™ by Meijer™ Organic Ground Cinnamon

  1. Add all ingredients, in order listed to blender or processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes. Enjoy!

Blueberry Walnut Salad

Makes 6 servings

  • 1 10 ounce package Dole mixed salad greens
  • 1 pint fresh locally grown Michigan blueberries
  • ¼ cup True Goodness™ by Meijer™ Organic Walnuts
  • ½ cup lite raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing (like Paul Neuman’s)
  • ¼ cup True Goodness™ by Meijer ™ Organic Crumbled Feta Cheese
  1. In a large bowl, toss the salad greens with the blueberries, walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette. Top with feta cheese to serve.

Blueberry-Pineapple Salsa

Serves 4

  • 1 cup locally grown Michigan blueberries
  • 1 cup finely diced fresh pineapple
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded, minced
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon lime zest
  • 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  1. Combine blueberries, pineapple, jalapeño, lime juice, lime zest, cilantro, red onion and salt.
  2. Serve with tortilla chips or top burger, fish or chicken with salsa.

Fresh Blueberry and Lemon Parfait

Makes 4 servings

  • 4 6 ounce containers True Goodness™ by Meijer™ lemon yogurt
  • 8 Meijer gingersnap cookies, coarsely crushed
  • 1 pint fresh locally grown Michigan blueberries
  1. In 4 individual serving glasses, spoon 1 layer of lemon yogurt, sprinkle lightly with cookies and then a layer of blueberries. Repeat layers one more time, ending with lemon yogurt on top. Garnish with mint sprigs and blueberries, if desired.

Lemon Blueberry Bread

Makes 12 servings

  • 1/3 cup True Goodness™ by Meijer™ butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup Meijer granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 True Goodness™ by Meijer™ Organic Extra Large Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups True Goodness™ by Meijer™ white, whole-wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Meijer baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup True Goodness™ by Meijer™ Organic Low fat Milk
  • 2 tablespoons grated lemon zest
  • ½ cup True Goodness™ by Meijer™ Organic Walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh locally grown Michigan blueberries


  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ cup Meijer powdered sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Coat an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with Meijer cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together butter, ¾ cup sugar, juice and eggs. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into egg mixture alternately with milk. Fold in lemon zest, nuts and blueberries. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for approximately 60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool bread in pan for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, combine lemon juice and ¼ cup powdered sugar in a small bowl. Remove bread from pan and drizzle with glaze. Cool on a wire rack.
